Croc sighted near Port Hedland

People in the State’s north-west have been warned to take care after a crocodile was seen cruising at Spoil Bank, near Port Hedland yesterday.

Department of Environment zoologist Winston Kay said saltwater crocodiles lived in coastal rivers, swamps and often venture into the open sea and islands.

“They extend well inland along major rivers, floodplain billabongs and into freshwater rivers and creeks,” Dr Kay said.
