Snake surprise on lawn

When mowing the lawn, the last thing most would expect to happen is to see a copperhead snake to fly up at them.

This is what happened to Montefiores resident Adam Shrimpton on Tuesday.

Although it was only a baby snake, Mr Shrimpton’s main concern was if there were babies around, then “where were the mum and dad?”

“I was mowing the lawn at home when all of a sudden something came flying out the back of the mower and hit me,” he said.

“Then as a reaction I kicked it and looked over and saw it was a snake squirming in the grass. I froze because I was in total shock.”
