Venomous snakes on the move into town

A western brown with a bad attitude was not overly enthusiastic at being disturbed at a Territory business last week.

The 1.2m long snake took offence when the floors at DBH Contracting in Yarrawonga were being swept.

Reptile wrangler Chris Peberdy said the snake struck out at the broom during the sweeping.

“I located a very aggressive highly venomous western brown,” he said.

“One of the staff members was cleaning up in the workshop, it struck out, he was pretty lucky he didn’t get bitten.
