What to do if you find a stranded sea turtle

The desire to help an injured animal is strong in most humans. Good intentions, however, can often bring more harm than good. There are a variety of do’s and don’ts in handling wildlife, especially if the species falls under the “protected” umbrella.

Marine animals are no exception, and sea turtles, which tend to strand upon beaches along the south coast of New England, come with their own set of guidelines.
